In 2001, I took Reiki I after finding out I have a non life threatening disease called
Poly-cystic Ovarian Syndrome. I wanted to have something that I could use to control a
personal issue that was uncontrollable. The funny thing is that I am not a control freak, but
when I found out about PCOS, I suddenly found a control streak. I didn't like the idea that I
couldn't predict when I would feel bad and not know when it would end or how to stop it. I
wanted to be able to help myself or to heal myself. So I went online and searched for "Self
Healing" in the search engine and of course Amazon came up first on the list and it was a
book called Reiki for Beginners by David Vennells and the little blurb said, "Reiki is the
name given to a simple yet profound system of natural healing for body and mind..." I
bought that book and decided Reiki was exactly what I needed.

For the next 3 years I used Reiki on myself and my family with great success and it was a wonderful knowledge that I had something I
could use to help me when I wasn't feeling my best mentally, physically, emotionally or spiritually.
Simply put, Reiki is a Japanese technique of relaxation that promotes healing. The practitioner uses a series of non-invasive hand
positions to connect your body (aches, issues and all) to Universal Energy to bring balance and peace to the client.
Gentle Illumination began as a single effort in 2003 when I completed Reiki Master/Teacher level. For the next year I did session work
and taught a few classes which I really enjoyed, but I wanted to add another element to my sessions that was a great combination to
Reiki. In the beginning of 2004 I signed up for a certification program at the Australasian College of Herbal Science. My course of study
was Aromatherapy and I completed the naturally accredited program and began producing my very own line of personal care products
which includes a product that I am very proud of. It's a room spray that can be used to clear, cleanse and bring balance back to an
environment and your spirit, called Peace. I was once told at an Expo that Peace was my gift to the Universe. It was a humbling
experience that put things into perspective; I needed to get out of my own way and remember that things happen for a reason whether we
know what that reason is at the time.
For the longest time I have wanted to have a place outside of my home to practice my work, sell my products and teach my classes. I
actually had a location for over a year that was outside of my home office that I was renting that wasn't quite right. I am pleased to report
that the new Gentle Illumination Group location is great, the atmosphere is wonderful and I must admit I think it will be perfect for our
needs and for those of our clients.
I am happy to report that I am fully able to help you with mental, emotional, physical and spiritual needs. I not only do session work, I am
also fully capable of teaching all who wish to seek Reiki as a field of interest for themselves or for others at all Reiki levels.
My line consists of many all natural personal care products at this time that I have been producing and selling for over a year. I am
continually seeking information about new ingredients and thinking of new products to make. My line will be sold at Gentle Illumination
Group and can be purchased from my website (even for local pickup with no additional shipping.)
Along with the above mentioned products and services I offer at Gentle Illumination Group, I am also offering two different types of fun
Aroma Classes (non-certificate) Aroma 1 is a class that simply teaches you how to make glycerin bar soap, a special sugar, jojoba body
scrub, and a simple lotion. Aroma 2 is a class that teaches you how to safely use a few common essential oils in your daily life. (Practical
application.) Soon, I will list information about these classes on my website.
